Super reliable sources at People Magazine report that Katharine McPhee just got engaged to this handsome young man. And by super reliable, I mean who gives a shit.

McPhee, 23, recently has been showing off a ring from Cokas, 42. They have been dating for more than a year.

“Katharine is bubbling over with excitement for her upcoming wedding,” a source says. “She is all smiles when she talks about the planning. It sounds like everything is going very smoothly.” (source)

This, like all relationships initiated in Hollywood where one person is hot and famous with a huge rack and the other person is just some dude that looks like he might be able to help you find a solution to your home theater needs, will end with the hot famous chick moving on and the unfamous dude helping you out with that Pioneer 7.1 surround package.

I don’t think I’ve made it a secret how I feel about Katharine McPhee and her two American Idols, but I think I may have just converted to an Assman. Katharine McPhee is set to play a supporting role in the new Anna Faris film House Bunny, where she’ll play a sorority girl with a little problem.

“I am the hippie girl who is free-spirited and gets knocked up and has no father around. I think my whole gimmick is being pregnant,” she said of her role in the comedy, which centers on a former Playboy Playmate (Anna Faris) who signs up to be the house mother at a sorority. “We have all these outfits that I wear that no pregnant woman — I don’t care how hot you are — should ever be wearing.” (source)

Who says pregnant chicks can’t be hot n’ sexy? Pregnant women are glowing and radiant and full of life. They’re also fat and mean with hairy stomachs and an outtie that looks like a Vienna sausage and sometimes they try to kill their babies. Rreeeow.

American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee has been getting a little extra TLC from her boyfriend, actor Nick Cokas. The 22-year-old singer, who has missed the first American Idols Live tour dates because of bronchitis and laryngitis, stopped by Cold Stone Creamery in Studio City with her beau on Thursday for a cool treat. Cokas, 41, ever the gentlemen, held the door open for his recovering sweetie as they entered the ice cream store, then held her purse as she snapped a photo with a fan.

Cokas, who was acting as McPhee’s caretaker and interpreter, told us that under the doctor’s orders, the singer will miss another few days of the tour – but hopes to join her fellow Idols by the time they reach Rochester, N.Y., on July 21. (source)

The only reasons I even watched American Idol this season are in full display in that picture up there, precariously bound by a thin piece of fabric. Katharine McPhee is extremely cute, and she can obviously sing, but to be a real star today, you have to have a giant beautiful rack. I mean…uh talent, or something. Here’s a few reminders of that talent including some decent scans of her recent OK Magazine shoot.

Last night’s American Idol featured Katharine McPhee wearing this yellow dress and also featured 30 million viewers edging closer and closer to their tv screens as her titillating performance played out. I don’t remember the song but I do remember the part where a button came off the split of her dress giving us a view of the McPanties. I cried a little right there.

I rarely ever watch the American Idol show because I think it’s a farce and completely pre-planned but this year the producers got smart and added in a little something I like to call the boobie factor. Between the Idol Twins (and twins!) Kellie Pickler’s Prom Dress, and Katharine McPhee’s damn near Renaissance quality rack, there has been ample reason to watch this season. Kellie has perfected the aw-shucks, country-come-to-town act that her contemporaries Britney (who didn’t have to act it) and Jessica (who is trying to shed it) brought into the mainstream. There’s no doubt she’s hot. There’s also no doubt that she knows it, and will use it to get what she wants. If you don’t see it, then she had you at “bless your heart”.
