Apparently, recently scammed perpetrated payola’d rightfully voted by America, American Idol champion Taylor Hicks revealed that he almost didn’t make to American Idol because he caught the last taxi cab out of New Orleans before Hurricane Katrina hit the city. In a recent appearance on Leno he revealed:

“Sunday night before Katrina hit, I was one of the last taxi cabs out of New Orleans,” Hicks revealed. “I took a plane flight to Las Vegas, and here I am.” (source)

Most of you know that I am not a big fan of Taylor Hicks because he lacks that certain je ne sais quoi I like to call a huge rack. Katharine McPhee should have won American Idol, hands down. Well, one hand down, at least. Aside from that, I am glad that he made it out of the city before Katrina hit, although I am a little skeptical that he was in the last taxi cab out of the city. I hailed a cab in New Orleans once that was supposed to be the last cab running for the night. It turns out that gypsy cabs in New Orleans are really full of gypsies with lots of duct tape and cinder blocks. Je ne l’aime pas, mes amis.
