Obviously, this is my favorite time of year. Honestly, in a breast contest there really are no losers, but there were a few that I would have put in the top ten that didn’t make it. Like Monica Belluci, Katherine Heigl, Katherine McPhee, Kate Winslet, Poppy Montgomery, Rachel Nichols and my Swedish Figure skater girlfriend (who has the nicest rack I’ve ever seen in person without having to pay).

The largest fine ever levied against a TV Network was handed down this week to CBS for an Episode of “Without A Trace” - a show about The FBI Missings Persons Bureau.

Federal regulators on Wednesday proposed a record $3.6-million fine for a single TV episode, targeting CBS stations and network affiliates for airing a simulated orgy in the hit drama “Without a Trace.”

CBS-owned stations and the network’s affiliates bore the brunt of the indecency fines, the first issued by the FCC under Kevin J. Martin since he took over as chairman one year ago. Six other broadcasters were fined a total of $355,000.

The decisions “demonstrate the commission’s continued commitment to enforcing the law prohibiting the airing of obscene, indecent and profane material,” said Martin, one of the commission’s Republican members, in a statement.(source)

I don’t know where the hell I was when this aired because I usually try to catch any prime time shows that include “orgy” inthe description. As a matter of fact, I hacked my TiVo to record only shows that feature brief nudity or non-Vchip compliant language. But, I’m a rebel. The real issue here is censorship and accountability. That is, who is really accountable if a kid ends up watching an FBI Crime Drama about an orgy? Is it the networks who label the shows accordingly, or the parents who don’t pay attention? Maybe if some of these parents would spend a little more time monitoring what their kids watched and a little less time crying about it, I could finally get some Prime Time TV with full frontal nudity.
