Apple’s godfather is Shaun of the Dead

Deal with it. Yeah, motherfucker.

Gwyneth Paltrow and husband Chris Martin (of the super manly band ColdPlay) have decided to make Simon Pegg the godfather of their bewilderingly named 3 year child child, Apple. Pegg is best know for writing and starring in the two Brit comedy hits Shaun of the Dead and Hott Fuzz. Both of which of course qualify him for godfatherdom.

Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow have chosen comedian Simon Pegg to be godfather to their three-year-old daughter Apple. But the Shaun Of The Dead star has no intention of providing moral guidance to the celebrity offspring - and insists he wants his young charge to have fun. He says, “I’d like to think I’m a really great, fun godfather. “It’s much more interesting than trying to be a good influence on her. I’m a comedian - it’s what they expect.”(source)

I agree. What does a godfather do anyway? I think they’re supposed to take care of you if your parents die or something, but my godfather smelled like gin and cigarettes and had special visits with my mom when my dad was out of town. Here are some shots of Gwynnie like I like to remember her.
