According to a TMZ “exclusive” report, an offical has gone on record with the cause of Anna Nicole Smith’s 20 year old son Daniel’s death. He cites drugs as the factor.

Dr. Cyril Wecht, a pathologist and former coroner who was hired by Anna Nicole and signed Daniel’s death certificate, tells TMZ, “It could be a drug-related death of an accidental nature.”

An official connected with the investigation, who wished to remain anonymous, told TMZ that the drugs in question “were prescription, not illegal.” The source added that Daniel had “a combination” of anti-depressants and other prescriptions in his system

Dr. Wecht, however, bitterly disagrees with the Coroner of the Bahamas who claims the cause of death has been established to a certainty.

Dr. Wecht says he and another pathologist, Dr. Golinda Raju, both have determined that Daniel’s cause of death is unknown, pending the final toxicology report. In sharp contrast, Coroner Linda Virgill tells TMZ, “I stand firm that the cause of death is known.”

I saw the Mighty Quinn, and if Denzel has taught me anything, it’s this: don’t go to the hospital in the Bahamas. I’m pretty sure that to get a medical degree in the Bahamas all you have to do is kill a chicken at midnight and drink a cup of poison without dying.

That said, I’m not really sure about the new doctor’s findings. I was under the impression that a drug related death of an accidental nature usually ends with a naked body getting rolled up in an area rug and friends who never talk again. No harm, no foul, right?

This whole case is very mysterious. First Daniel died under weird circumstances, then there was the mysterious “you did this!” declaration by Anna Nicole to an unknown person and now the conflicting autopsy reports. This is gonna take some real detective work. Like the time we solved the old theme park haunting. It really Old Man Johnson dressed as a ghost clown. And he would’ve gotten away with it, too if it weren’t for us kids.
