It looks like Indiana Jones “4″ is in the works. According to sources the script is being written right now and production should begin sometime next year.

“It is still on the frontburner,” said [Gary] Marshall in Sydney today, promoting his new film Eight Below which opens nationally on April 20.

“We really have to get the story right. The story has to be really good for any of us to do it and there are three pretty strong-willed creative minds involved in saying yes.”

Steven Spielberg is slated to direct the project, with Marshall and George Lucas attached as producers.

Lucas is also writing the script with David Koepp.

The storyline is being kept a closely guarded secret but Marshall said it would follow on from the first three films – Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Harrison Ford, 63, will reprise his role as the adventurous Indiana Jones.

Sean Connery played Jones’ father in the original films and is rumoured to be in the fourth instalment, although Marshall couldn’t confirm this.

“Harrison is going to play the character and it is going to be 10 or 12 years later,” said Marshall.

“It will be a story that makes sense and is believable.”(source)

I don’t think I have made it a secret that I really love these movies and I am really psyched for the return of Indiana Jones even though he will be more grizzled and road weary. “It’s not the years honey, it’s the mileage“.

I was a little upset that Harrison Ford wasn’t cast (along with Monica Belluci travesty!) as the lead in the Da Vinci Code. I’m just not sure that Tom Hanks and Audrey Tatou can pull it off. But, hey having Indy back in action is definitely preferable. Actually, having naked Monica Bellucci call my name in that sexy French accent of hers is preferable, but I digress. There is no way that I would post any images of Karen Allen and I couldn’t find any good NSFW images of Alison Doody (Doody!) so here are some nice pics of the new Laura Croft, Karima Adebibe.
