Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s romance is reportedly getting some resistance from Tom Cruise. Ever the fly in the ointment, Tom has been allegedly sticking his nose in their business over the last few weeks. A source from The Star reports:

An item notes that while Tom isn’t jealous he’s concerned as he "always wants what’s best for the kids."  The source then gets pretty speculative.

"I don’t think Tom asked for her opinion on his relationship with Katie Holmes so Nicole must feel that her relationship with Keith is none of Tom’s business."

Nic’s kids have reportedly met Keith and adore him.

Ever the country gentleman, Keith has been "very nice to Tom when he has called" according to yet another source cited by the magazine.

Keith even invited Tom and the fabulous Katie Holmes by the Urban mansion if they are ever in Tennessee, reads the report.

But the piece does end with the source speculating, "Nicole is very happy right now and she probably feels it’s time for Tom to back off."

I know Keith is from Australia but he lives in the Tennessee now, so that makes him a southerner. Down South we’re all country gentlemen to a fault. When visiting the south, courtesy dictates that if you’re invited to the country house, you should call ahead to announce your arrival. This serves to let the lady of the house know that guests are arriving and it also let’s the man of the house know to go ahead and get the plastic and the shovels ready down in the cellar. Y’all come back now, ya hear? Except, not.

UPDATE: Super Sexy Texas reader Dana wrote in and told me that I was spelling y’all wrong (I was spelling it ya’ll). I told her that in South Cackalackee we make shit up as we go along. Seemed to work out ok for John C Calhoun (ZING! American History humor!) After weighing both sides of the argument, I have decided to change it to what the saucy Texas chick likes. After all, Texas is a whole ‘nuther country.
