Paula Abdul got dumped by American Idolbetween last season and this season and Ellen DeGeneres gladly took her place. And since AIis about to turn into a circus with Ellen judging, Simon Cowell ditched the show and is starting his own U.S. version of The X Factor. Now there are rumors floating around that Simon might have Abdul as a judge on his new show making the whole AI firing/quitting thing rather ironic.

Let’s face it, people who tuned in to American Idol for all those seasons didn’t care if it was Simon, Paula or a trained dog judging the show. They tuned in cause there was some serious talent performing on a nightly basis. I don’t expect The X Factor to get ratings anywhere near Idol. But I guess the Simon die hards will tune in to see their snobbish Brit talk some smack to people who have 1 million times more talent than he does.
