Every so often I like to look at British gossip rags to see what they’re up to over across the ocean. Usually this mission yields a ton of boobs and scandal, but this time I came across 16 year-old Chloe Marshall who may just be the next Miss England. Yeah, she’s a size 16 and weighs 168lbs, but she’s just won the title of “Miss Surrey,” and competes for the title of Miss England in July.

Reflecting on being the first size 16 contestant to make it to the finals for Miss England and on how her fellow contestants were 8’s and 10’s, Chloe explains:

“Everybody thinks you have to be a tall, slim blonde and I’m a curvy brunette. I want to show it is possible to be beautiful and not a standard size zero. The reaction I’ve had is great. Other girls have told me I have really boosted their confidence, which is terrific.” (source)

Chloe is definitely a pretty girl, but it’s a good thing she’s competing in England and not the U.S. I mean we wouldn’t even allow a size 8 as Miss America . . . and probably not a size 4 either. And speaking of tiny, perfect, blonde girls, let’s stare at Joana Krupa in bikinis, shall we?
